Can I get a visa on arrival in Tanzania?
In the context of the COVID-19 epidemic, it is strongly advised to carry an e-Visa to avoid crowds at airports.
⏰ When to apply for an e-Visa?
The e-Visa application must be made at least 5 days before your arrival. If your arrival is far away, we accept applications but we will allow us to send you your e-Visa when it is available (about two and a half months before your arrival).
Do I need an e-Visa for transit?
If you are in transit and wish to leave the airport, you will need a visa. The transit visa allows you to stay in Tanzania for up to 6 days. You will need to have a ticket to a third country. Please contact theembassy for this type of visa.

Zanzibar is an island belonging to Tanzania. As passport control is only carried out when entering a country, there is no different procedure between Tanzania and Zanzibar. The e-Visa allows you to visit Tanzania Island (Zanzibar) or Tanzania Mainland, without any worries.

If the minor leaves French territory without a legal guardian, he or she must be in possession of an AST (authorisation to leave the country). This document can be requested online, and must be completed by one of the holders of parental authority. When travelling, this form must be accompanied by a copy of the identity document of the legal guardian.
⏱ How long is the e-Visa valid for?
The e-Visa issued will be basedon the dates of stay you indicate on the form. It allows you to stay for a maximum of 90 days but if you indicate that you want to stay for one month, the e-Visa issued will only allow you to stay for one month.
